Primstar 2 Early Adopters Program
While I was sleeping, Gaia stayed up late to launch Primstar-2 (I had been coding all day though to get it ready 
)

This is just an early adopters program and is far from feature complete, but it's enough to get you started in using Blender 2.57 for creating sculpties.
There are still some annoying Blender bugs that affect it, but none are showstoppers, they just mean you have to work a little harder to do some things.

will there be a free-as-in-free-beer version of primstar-2 ?
hi,
i can't find a free download link for primstar-2 anywhere,
just the US$30,00 on the JASS in-world shop.
that make me ask if it is planed to make a free-as-in-free-beer and open source version available in the future. don't get me wrong, i'm sure that the development is worth each cent but i never bought any software for my needs but helped a lot of free and open source projects to evolve. if i needed to spent on all those projects my little money i could starve.

Primstar 2 license
Primstar 2 is under the GPL 2 license, so there is no reason why people couldn't give a copy to their friends. There are no plans to make an official free as in beer release though.
With Primstar 1, the time I invested was never covered by donations. I've just had over a year of not working at all because of my health issues, and I'm barely scraping by financially too. If Primstar 2 was free I couldn't afford to develop it. It was a tough decision to change to a pay version only, but the alternative was no Primstar 2.
PS: L$6000 / 275 = just over US $21
Even after launch, the price was picked to be about US $25 or about two DVDs.. So 3 to 4 hours entertainment or many more hours being creative, and possibly making back that outlay with a Second Life product or two..

Full details on downloading Primstar 2 are provided when you purchase it.
The only case where you can request source code from the developer under the GPL is when the software is a binary distribution that doesn't include the source code. As Primstar 2 is written in Python, there is no compilation to do, and the scripts are the source code and are provided with your purchase.
So just because Primstar 2 is licensed under the GPL 2 does not mean that you can get it for free from the developer - ie me

I think your investment of time and skill into the SL community is worth our investment of money. You are in need and we need your scripts.
Three times I have had to give up my land since the economic downturn. Twice I built a garden. People would donate land to our garden and I would have more and more tier to pay. I would have to give it up. After 2 years of working part time, I finally have my hours back and I am starting again.
I fully understand your decision and am only too happy to pay for a copy.
Import to SL
please tell me in primstar 2 you will have SL importation does it have it already im mainly just looking for this feature.
Will it print a script or somthing so i can just put it in a box with textures and just go. (when i say go i mean multi prim objects with spacing built as they appear in blender.)
Primstar 2 import to SL
This is a feature that's still in development. It'll export from Blender in LLSD XML format so you'll need a viewer that supports importing that. Details on supported viewers will be announced when I've finished coding the feature.

Under the terms of GPL you are only allowed to require a compensation directly related to delivering a copy of the source-code, in this day and age (read: internet connected web-sites) slightly less that USD 25 seems a bit excessive.
To be fair, I don't plan on making any kind of fuss about having to pay the USD 25, requiring that kind of payment is not in compliance with the license, and I would suggest you - retro actively - change the license to something else. E.g. the much famed "Android special Apache license" which allows Google to _delay_ publishing the sourcecode for Android 3.0

Not a licensing issue
You have a misunderstanding of the GPL license. The compensation for distributing source code you refer to only relates to binary only distributions, which you may already have paid a significant amount for. That provision of the GPL is to ensure the developer / distributor doesn't double charge you to also get the source code, or worse, price the source code so high the software essentially becomes closed source.
I suggest you read the article on selling free software that I've already linked to in another reply to this thread. It's on the GNU site and I believe it was written by Richard Stallman, you know, the man responsible for the GPL license. As he says "Distributing free software is an opportunity to raise funds for development. Don't waste it!"
Delaying the release of source code is impractical with Python programs so I'm not sure why you thought that could be an option. A lot of thought went into choosing the license, and I would not consider a change to one that allowed third parties to enhance and sell Primstar without allowing me to incorporate any changes they made.
Primstar 2 with no lindens
I belive LL is morally corrupt, and won't support them by logging in to SL or buying/selling lindens. I am active in the virtual worlds communities, and contribute to opensource (I added OTR to a couple of clients). How can I get primstar 2 with out involving any lindens?
