AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION ON WINDOWS. (USING WINDOWS XP 32bit)

Hi everybody, days ago experienced a horrible data loss which left me without my main workstation for a couple days and took away from me all I virtually treasured there, including the operating systems.

Yeah, it feels like a virtual re-born, specially the part the nurse smacks you so you take your first deep breath and cry a little.

So... I decided to do something useful while re-installing stuff.

Made-up/prepared a few images explaining the Automatic Installation using install.py for Windows users, particularly XP ones, of course it should also work for any other Windows version, keeping in mind: paths, administrator permission, etc.

INSTALLED:

Blender 2.49b

Python 2.6.5 Windows x86 MSI Installer (2.6.5) for more information check this link.

Primstar 1.0.0 (site version) [git yet not installed, I'm missing time-traveling]

IMPORTANT: the images do not cover all the procedures, but the parts I considered important to stick with. If you don't find your way in it, please read the Manual section and don't miss to check the readme.txt bundled within the primstar_1.0.0.zip file.

IMAGES: (follow the links below):

1.) While installing Blender.

2.) Command Prompt: Navigating through it and using the installation command.

3.) After the command's been sent.

4.) Glitch.

5.) Save Preferences and quit Blender.

6.) Don't worry if it says/shows: Compiled with Python version 2.6.2 while you installed another Python 2.6.x version.

7.) Let's re-start Blender to check if all is as it should be.

8.) It worked, fellas.

Really hope it helps, at least a little, understanding the way to accomplish the automatic installation of Primstar using install.py provided by Domino.

May the source be with you all. Star

Using install.py on Windows

Created a Forum topic: here. How to sort the Automatic Installation of Primstar 1.0.0 on Windows platforms.

It's all crap

The installions are very antiquated for a very advanced piece of sotware. most ppl are complaining they can't resolve the Primstar instalation . sure its free but it's not put togehter as a package very well. no wher does it say where ur python directory should be and blender don't want to find it on it's own. The Primstar is one or tow lousy scripts and jut adding them to the blender folder should be more than enought for this to work. Most people don't know what DOS is and that's what is needed to COMMAND promt some of this stuff into the folders specified.

Compiled with Python version

Compiled with Python version 2.6.2'import site' failed; use -v for tracebackChecking for installed Python... No installed Python found. Only built-in modules are available. Some scripts may not run. Continuing happily.

This is all i get after installing blender, python, primstar in the manner you somewhat layed out. I can not enter anything into the dos window that pops up and when i close the window the program stops running.

What is the problem with this program?
