Export to LSL doesn't work with duplicate sculpts.

Not too long ago, I was making a sculptie skull in Blender (yeah, I know it's been done before).  I duplicated a lot of the teeth sculpts using alt-D and then just resized/repositioned them in Object Mode, because I figured it would be best to use as few sculpt maps as possible.

Trouble is, when I tried to use Primstar's export function, it gave me all the correct sculpt maps, but the lsl script didn't seem to like the duplicate sculpt maps.  It positioned only one front tooth, one incisor, and one molar, and left the rest of the prims as spheres inside the script box.

I was wondering if there was any way to get it to behave, or if there was plans to get something like this to work.

I hate this problem too. It

I hate this problem too. It has to do because all of the duplicated pieces share the same sculpt map. I really wish there was a script to generate new UV images for all the selected pieces

Duplicate sculpts aren't recognised.

Well I just learned the hard way that you can't yet duplicate sculpts made by primstar.  It seems that if you do so, only the first one is recognised, and the duplicates are discarded.  Even if you look in the LSL script, the duplicates won't show up.  I recently tried to make just one "leather strip" that I kept duplicating and using lattuce to bend to different shapes to discover in the end that only the first one would export.  That was an unfortunate waste of time, but now I know.  I found that if I create a new sculpt each time that it will be recognised by primstar, but dang it, then I have to reshape it to a strap shape for each and every strap in my harness.  *sighs*

No fix for Primstar 1

Sorry, I somehow missed this post originally.

Primstar 1 is not longer under development. I will make sure this works correctly in Primstar 2.

I'm not sure why the duplicated teeth aren't working correctly though. That's the use case that I designed in, that you can use object mode scalings to get multiple objects from the same sculpt map.

You can duplicate the straps, but you then need to create new sculpt maps on each of the duplicates if you are editing their shape. This is because duplication was designed for cases like the scull, not for a shortcut in the creation of new sculpties. Another way to handle this is to design a base strap, bake it to a 512 x 512 png image and save that in the library folder in the Primstar installation directory. Restart blender and you'll then have this strap available as one of the default sculptie shapes.

I think jass magic may handle this differently so you may want to try that if you want to create new sculpt maps automatically at bake time instead.
