Need a little bit of help

Hello there, first off, I'm what most call an oldie, I've been around SL for so long my avitar should be farting dust and breaking a hip every time he turns briskly >.> That being said, I'm fairly well versed in building, sculpting, texturing, and whatever else I can get my paws into. A short while back my PC crashed hard, we are talking it commited PC suicide, and I lost everything. Well now that it's back up and running, I got blender installed, and was itching to continue work on my new otter avitar idea that I have been kicking around for a bit.

Well, came to the website to download your wonderful script that has made life so much easier for me, installed it, went to use it.... and the interface has so drastically changed I cant figure out my rear from a hole in the ground. I like to think myself fairly computer litterate, and I've been using blender for years now, but I just cannot figure this out. I mean what happened to the old script? I cant really seem to locate it anywhere. I've made some pretty complex sculpties in my time, but with this thing, I cant make crap. I tried making the front to a pop machine the other day, and it looked pretty good in blender, I baked and so on, and when I looked at it in SL, it looked like someone had beaten it with an oar and set it on fire, and then urinated on the ashes to defile it even further XD

So I dont mean to gripe, or sound like an idiot, but I really need a push in the right direction. I mean can someone tell me step by step, from start to finish, their process of creating a sculpty with this new script, or upload a picture or video tutorial? Because all I can find currently are tutorials of my much missed and loved older script that I cant seem to locate.

Sorry if this is incoherent or rambling a bit :S i have fibromyalgia and am generally on alot of pain meds, so my brain works similarly to a hamster on a wheel... only the hamster has two legs made out of salami sticks, a third that's an inch shorter than the others, and his last leg has a wooden shoe for a foot.

Old Scripts

Hi,

You upgraded at a bad time, I've just broken some types of baking in the 0.9.x series as a side effect of adding new functionality - it's mostly fixed in the git repository. I'm just cleaning up the last few issues then I'll be doing a 0.9.19 release with the fixes. This is one of the reasons the download page recommends the 0.5.x series (hopefully the version you want) for everyday use as the -git releases are under rapid development and don't always work as expected.

There's a couple of videos by Manny in the manual which were done with 0.9.x before I broke it. So you can see there how it should work and hopefully will work again tomorrow Smile
